in your own space, post self-recs for at least three fanworks that you created.

this challenge wasn’t as hard as it has been previously. i think that’s because i recently saw courtney summers on twitter say this (which i’ve edited slightly to fit fandom) “stop apologizing for your work. never begin or end a promo [post] with "sorry" or how bad it makes you feel to do it. [dreamwidth/fandom] is not your confessor + it wants to hear about your [work]” which made me think about self promo differently.

i would always encourage you guys to self promo something, in fact, i had planned on having a note telling you to do so at the bottom of this post but i think i’ll just add it after this paragraph. so why are we so hesitant to promote ourselves? especially in fandom which lends itself to self promotion. fandom wants to know when you’ve posted something and are proud of it!

so, please, promo your self in the comments below! i want to see your work!

this is one of my favorite fics because i think it’s one of the best in terms of quality. i tried to make it as similar to the canon source as possible, i really wanted it to feel like an actual episode. when writing it it felt like i was writing an episode of the show but you never know if that’s just your mind playing tricks on you. luckily, a few wonderful commenters have said it read like an episode so it seems i was successful.

•secrets i have held in my heart

this is one of my favorites because it’s something i don’t typically do. i don’t typically write just smut, i believe i’ve only written one other fic that was smut, but i really liked the prompt for this and when the idea came to me i had to write it. i love this fic because i tried, and i hope i was successful, to make it more than just sex. i wanted pansy’s characterization to be a theme throughout the fic and add another layer to the sex. i think i was successful, i hope i was, but you never know.

•in the midst of chaos (there was you)

i love this fic because it’s about my favorite female character in the entire hp universe and one of my favorite underappreciated couples. it was also a challenge, as it was written for the 1sentence challenge, and it took me years to write. i really like that i got to tell bill and fleur’s story throughout the years and show how much i love them. plus, i just really love some of the sentences i came up with, to be quite frank.

i think most people don’t like her because of deathly hallows but i also think people tend to forget/choose to ignore that pansy was a seventeen year old girl who was scared out of her mind. being at hogwarts during that time was an impossibly hard situation to be in! so i always try to make her more than just the one dimensional she’s-evil-because-she’s-slytherin she was in canon.
