[dear flist] fest help

i have this problem where i want to do everything, even when i know it isn't feasible for me to do so. for example, i went through every fandom_stocking  post, read through each person's letter, noted what fandoms we shared, or what non-fandom thing i could give them, and then made a spreadsheet with all this information, intending to fill all 120 something stockings that were in my spreadsheet. obviously, that didn't happen. which then makes me feel disappointed in myself. 

i'm facing the same problem with fest sign-ups. look at all the fests i have my eyes on: (*means i'm not sure if they're running this year.)

and that's not even including smaller/mini fests like the cocksandjoggers rounds. 

a lot of these i want to do equally as badly so i'm just not sure what to do. my first thought is to do fests i've participated in before which would be everywoman, hd_wireless, and hp_getlucky. but one of my goals for this year is to participate in more fests and some of these i'm really excited about! i mean i guess i could sign up for those i have concrete ideas for, like i saw one prompt at hpkinkfest and have basically written an entire fic and my head and i've also got an idea for a prompt i saw at hp_getlucky. but still, i don't know. so, i guess what i'm asking is, how do you choose which fests you participate in?

and another question: i really love the idea of participating in femmefest  but i really only have a few hp femslash ships: ginny/luna, cho/luna, lavender/parvati, minerva/poppy, cho/marietta, and angelina/alicia. but i really only feel confident in writing ginny/luna, cho/luna, and lavender/parvati, possibly cho/marietta. the sign up post says to "list as many (pairings) as you'd like, please try to list at least three" which i technically have and it also has a section for what you won't write but i feel awkward saying "anything other than ginny/luna, cho/luna, lavender/parvati or cho/marietta" because that's so few ships. i just feel like i don't have enough f/f ships for this exchange i guess? idk. i'd really love to write ginny/luna, cho/luna, lavender/parvati, or cho/marietta but idk. i guess my insecure, worst-case scenario mind is just imagining the mods looking at my sign-up and being like "what are we supposed to do with this? there's like three ship here." which i'm sure they wouldn't do as i'm sure they're lovely people but that's just how my brain works. sigh.
