i'm actually surprised at the placement of some of these, particularly a/b/o being at number six, because i had never even read an a/b/o fic until last year, the year before? even though i started reading fic back in 06/07! on the other hand, i am absolutely not at all surprised by the first five because found families, loyalty kink, fake relationship, spy au, and seemingly unrequited pining are my faves. also this was strangely difficult? but that may just be because i'm an extremely indecisive person.

i'm surprised friends to lovers wasn't as high on mine as it is on yours because i adore that trope too. honestly, fic (or any media) with found families + friends to lovers in it is just ♥ ♥ ♥ (throw in a dose of fake dating and everyone secretly pining after the other thinking they don't feel the same way and i am gone).
