take my love in real small doses

little girl with your paper bones
told not to wander in the world alone
everything they told you was true:
this world was made to shred you in two

I’m not used to being loved. I wouldn’t know what to do.

[identity profile] delacourtings.livejournal.com 2015-12-24 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
I burned so long so quiet you must have wondered if I loved you back.
I did,
I did,
I do.

she will love you unconditionally, and that may be the saddest part about her.

Fuck it, all I write are long and elaborate ways of saying the same thing:
I am tired, I miss you and I wish you’d come back.

I knew I did from that first moment we met. It was… Not love at first sight exactly, but - familiarity.
Like: oh,
hello, it’s you.
It’s going to be you.

if it takes fighting a war for us to meet
it will have been worth it

death doesn’t discriminate
between the sinners and the saints
it takes and it takes and it takes.

and there you are an ocean away

do you have to live an ocean away?

i had some peculiar ideas about love. i’ll tell you what i thought on the subject back then: it’s about as much use as a barrel with no bottom. when i fed the pigs and two of them got to scrapping over an old soft onion, i thought: that’s love. love is eating. love is a snarling pig snout and long tusks. love is a dress like the sun.

love is the color of blood.
love is what grown folk do to each other because the law frowns on killing.

i want to be blind, only my hands to guide me
bring all of you inside me.

and we smiled,
our faces like a mirror
showing us our secret sides.
but then the fights.

the sharp words splintering the night,
how i couldn't be what you'd need
but oh how I could make you bleed.

simulacrum: [sim-yuh-ley-kruh m]

plural: simulacra: [sim-yuh-ley-kruh]

noun: an imitation or representation of a person or a thing, like a statue or a painting. one could argue that words themselves are simulacra as they are merely representations of the things, people, and ideas they describe, rather than the actual things.

etymology: latin from 1590-1600. literal translation "likeness" or "similarity."
